Job Description
The Role
We are on the lookout for a full time graphic designer with product development experience to bring two new brands to life in the game and gift categories. It’s a varied role that will see you illustrating and designing for product and packaging, costing and communicating with suppliers, and even playing some games!
What you need
– At least 3 years experience in the relevant fields with demonstrable success delivering products to consumers
– Great illustration for mass-market product and a portfolio that shows it off
– Experience creating individual brands and identities for products
– Proficiency in the usual InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop applications
– Proven graphic design experience
– A keen eye for trends
– Experience in product development and costing
– Knowledge of the manufacturing process
– Artworking/print production skills
– The ability to work independently, on a wide range of product, switching priorities as required and moving projects forward simultaneously toward a shared launch date
– Experience in packaging and/or publishing a plus
– Experience or an interest in casual board games a big plus (think 20 minute playtimes)
What you’ll do
– Be responsible for the graphic design and illustration of all our products, from jigsaw puzzles, to trivia, game and playing cards, board games and their components, packaging and presentation materials
– Create prototypes for playtesting (mostly stickering cards, and packaging mock ups)
– Help playtest new game ideas (when it is safe to do so or remotely online)
– Assist in research and content creation for puzzles and trivia
– Produce specification sheets and production schedules for all products
– Acquire quotes and negotiate costings with suppliers/factories for all products
– Communicate deadlines and costs with the team
– Comp shop and contribute ideas for new products, trends and themes
– Prepare files for print, organize prototypes and check production samples
