Edition Spielwiese and Hachette Boardgames ready MicroMacro Kids
Edition Spielwiese and Hachette Boardgames are launching MicroMacro Kids to tabletops in the UK, US, Canada and Australia.
The MicroMacro series – known for its large-scale cartoon-like maps and detective challenges – has spawned four core titles and spin-offs like MicroMacro Jigsaw. In these games, players solve mysteries by tracking key events and characters hidden within detailed illustrations.
MicroMacro Kids offers a range of family-friendly cases set in the familiar MicroMacro world. While the original games included some darker themes, this edition focuses solely on playful, light-hearted mysteries. The game features 22 cases that gradually increase in difficulty.
“MicroMacro was never intended as a children’s game, but we recognised its appeal to younger players,” said Michael Schmitt, Founder of Edition Spielwiese.
“Now, with the help of a freelance editor who was responsible for Children’s Game of the Year at Ravensburger, we’ve created a game just as thrilling as the Crime City series.”
Rob Trounce, Marketing Manager of Hachette Boardgames UK, added: “I’ve spent countless hours poring over MicroMacro maps — they’re some of the most innovative, narratively rich tabletop games out there. I’m thrilled to share that magic with a new generation through MicroMacro Kids.”
MicroMacro Kids is being showcased at London Toy Fair (Hachette Boardgames UK booth – stand number UL123), as well as at Spielwarenmesse in Nuremberg and New York Toy Fair. The game launches in April.
