The session will give an in-depth guide as to what life as a toy designer and freelance inventor looks like, delving into the various routes recent graduate can take to give themselves the best chance of working in the toy space.

The annual awards event is welcoming a new category this year in the form of Most Innovative Supplier.

New range marks the second 2D tile concept to launch from LEGO, following the arrival of LEGO Dots earlier this year.

“We want to bring the escape room experience to everyone and within the comfort of their own surroundings – and this is the ideal time to introduce this world-first game concept,” said Golden Bear’s Kathy Lesser.

“Poetry for Neanderthals was born when two friends introduced me to a word game they invented, where each player had to describe a life experience using only single syllable words,” said Elan Lee, co-creator of Exploding Kittens.

The sets were chosen on the LEGO Ideas platform, with these projects having garnered 10,000 supporters on the site.

“I believe that finding ways to build brands that offer quality play experiences for families and kids today is more important than ever and I am excited to be part of that,” said Kilpin.

“I encourage everyone to embrace this moment in time to show enthusiastic support for this next class of designers,” said The Toy Association’s Steve Pasierb.

In partnership with NPD, TinkerTini has created the “NPD: Inventors Edition Report” providing item and category performance data for TinkerTini’s registered inventors.

“To create the tips of their noses, we had to bring back the LEGO Classic Space Helmet in black, which hasn’t been seen since 1987,” said LEGO designer Ollie Gregory.
