Illustrator Phil Corbett to discuss the art of creating compelling characters at Play Creators Conference
Illustrator Phil Corbett will be discussing his approach to building worlds and creating characters at this year’s Play Creators Conference.
Phil has been an illustrator, character creator and narrative designer since the heady days of the late Nineties, working with the likes of Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and the BBC, along with countless start-ups, to create content for younger audiences.
After a few years drawing Korky the Cat strips for the Dandy, he went on to create the Kitty Quest graphic novel series that’s gathering a large following of young readers on both sides of the Atlantic.
His session, ‘Lore & Order’, will explore the art of creating worlds and compelling characters, the importance of narrative and the difficulties in trying to craft something that appeals to everyone.
This year’s Play Creators Conference – sponsored by Hasbro – is taking place at London’s Twickenham Stadium on Tuesday, September 6th.
