Lucca Comics & Games details Board Game Designer of the Year finalists
Lucca Comics & Games has detailed the finalists for its Board Game Designer of the Year award.
The seven nominees for this year’s award are:
• Rob Daviau for titles including Unmatched, Stranger Things: Upside Down and Ticket to Ride Legacy: Legends of the West.
• Elizabeth Hargrave for titles including Wingspan Asia and The Fox Experiment.
• Adam Kwapiński for games including Nemesis: Lockdown, Frostpunk: The Board Game, Terracotta Army and Lords of Ragnarok.
• Simone Luciani for games including Tiletum, Darwin’s Journey, Anunnaki: Dawn of the Gods, Sea Dragons, Rats of Wistar, Nucleum and High Season: Grand Hotel Roll & Write.
• Luc Rémond for titles including Sky Team.
The prize – founded last year by Lucca Crea – is awarded to an inventor who is active and prolific in the board game market.
The jury assesses games published (nationally and internationally) by each designer in the two years before the current edition of the award. The members of the jury are chosen by Lucca Crea among ‘professionals and scholars who participate or have actively participated in awards dedicated to board games and in the SAZ Association’. This year’s jury includes: Fabio Cambiaghi, Luca Borsa, Paolo Cupola, Alessio Lana and Silvio Negri Clementi.
Jurors evaluate candidates based on originality and innovation, sensitivity and timeliness, and productivity and eclecticism.
The winner will be announced during the awards ceremony at the Lucca Comics and Games festival, taking place from October 30th to November 3rd.
