Mattel’s Pictionary Sketchbook line debuts with Jake Parker collaboration
Mattel has launched the first game in its Pictionary Sketchbook series – a collaboration with artist Jake Parker and his Inktober brand.
The game works just like traditional Pictionary, but instead of sketching clues from scratch, players use Jake Parker’s artwork as a springboard, doodling on a clear acrylic sheet laid over his drawings.
The 32-page sketchbook features 25 playable pages and includes new sketches created by Jake Parker for the game.
“Inktober is the challenge of drawing a creative idea based on a daily prompt,” said Parker.
“It leans more towards imagination and problem solving rather than brute drawing force. Pictionary is very much in harmony with that.”
Just like Mattel’s UNO artist series, future games in the Pictionary Sketchbook series look set to feature other artist’s work.
