So Sound opens new studio in Scotland

Sutton-based invention studio, design agency and audio specialist So Sound has opened a new office in Scotland.

The new space is located within The Briggait hub in Glasgow and will provide a base for one of So Sound’s recent toy design hires, Colm Burns.

“We were delighted to hire Colm during lockdown; he’s been a brilliant addition to our team and has brought a great design attitude to the company” said TJ Morrison, Creative Director at So Sound.

“He’s based just outside of Glasgow, and as we move into a new normal we wanted to open a dedicated office here to give Colm the space to design and invent in a creative environment.”

With the opening of this second office, Morrison wants So Sound to support and give opportunities to design talent in the region.

“We’d like to establish ourselves as a studio that offers opportunities for young designers who live in Scotland,” added Morrison.

“We’ve got plans to set up connections with Scottish universities, and Glasgow has a rich history of art and design. The universities here offer fantastic design courses and we’re hoping to give designers the opportunity to experience the industry through placements and work experience.”
