The UNO movie will be an action heist comedy set in the underground hip hop world of Atlanta.
“The growth we’ve seen in the toy industry speaks to the fact that parents are willing to put their children’s happiness above all else,” said The NPD Group’s Juli Lennett.
“By introducing children to Dr. Maya Angelou’s courageous story and written works through doll play, our goal is to spark conversation and awareness with children and their families,” said Lisa McKnight, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls, Mattel.
The platform will sell a range of curated items that offer a peek inside Mattel’s creative process, as well as serving as a hub for collaborations with artists, designers, musicians and creators.
“As leaders in the dolls category, we’ve always known that doll play has a positive impact on kids, but up until now, we have not had neuroscientific data that demonstrates these benefits,” said Lisa McKnight, SVP and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls, Mattel.
Leading up to the Mojo Nation pitch, we caught up with Ravensburger’s Benn Bramwell, Senior International Product Manager for Children’s Games, and Leah Smith, Junior Product Designer.
We caught up with Tim Kilpin, President at PlayMonster, to find out more about his journey in the industry to date, and why PlayMonster’s latest launch – Snap Ships – is something special.
