“The on-going question that is Brexit undoubtedly had a dampening effect on consumer confidence whilst a general election in the middle of the busiest trading month of the year wasn’t helpful,” said the BTHA’s Natasha Crookes.

The Toy Trust raises money to give to children’s charities all around the UK and overseas and of her challenges.

The move follows a study by the BTHA across online platforms that found 58% of toys selected for assessment were non-compliant with the toy safety regulations in the UK and 22% of the total had serious safety issues.
