Toy and Game Design Conference

This year’s Play Creators Festival took place earlier this week, uniting the toy and game design world for two days of conferences, awards and pitching.

As the firm’s Director of Product Acquisition and Inventor Relations for games, Thompson boasts far-reaching connections in the global inventor community and is an expert in game sourcing.

“We wanted to help the industry create a Code of Conduct that makes the issue fairer and more transparent, and thereby brings good to the industry as a whole,” said Wynne-Jones IP’s Victor Caddy.

“I’ll be sharing two big picture trends –The Cult of Busy and Conveniently Conscious – and the impact of these on consumer behaviours in the toys and games market,” said Feeley.

Boyle will be talking about the importance of play-based behaviours for creating a more innovative company culture.

“This session will have the entire eco-system covered, from concept ideation, to pitching, to what makes something a great fit for the shelves of John Lewis,” said Mojo Nation’s Billy Langsworthy.

Issues of eco-friendly design, ethical manufacturing and social sustainability will go under the microscope with Kids Industries’ Gary Pope, Ethical Toy Program’s Carmel Giblin, The Marketing Store’s Ben Poate and design consultant Erin Deighton.

In ‘Don’t Forget the Past!’, Cartlidge will be looking at how past trends and items are often a source of inspiration to him and his team.
