Toyology’s Peter Jenkinson is launching a new online awards event, The Kidult’s.

Dedicated to celebrating the kidult sector of the market, these new awards include categories like Film & TV Merchandise, Board Game, Retro and High-Tech.

“Grown-ups have never been so spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing from an array of toys that give a nod to yesteryear and satisfy those childlike cravings – The Kidult’s will uncover the best for our self-indulgent delight,” said Toyology Chief Peter Jenkinson.

“Kidults are not only celebrating the reinvigoration of classic titles – with characters from decades past finding a new lease of life and franchise reboots reigniting adult interest – but they are recruiting younger fans too.”

The full slate of categories for The Kidult’s includes:
High-Tech
Action Stations
Collectibles
Film and TV merchandise
Plush
Figures and Dolls
Vehicles
Retro
Activities (create, colour and puzzle)
Board Game
Construction kit

Entries are open until mid-September with judging taking place throughout. An online awards ceremony will take place in early October.

The panel of judges for The Kidult’s includes tech expert Jason Bradbury, Absolute Radio’s Andy Bush, LEGO model builder Mark Campbell, Warhammer expert Robert Taylor, plush expert ‘LaurenOfficial’, JvM NERD London’s Calvin Innes and change maker Fleurie Amorett-Davis – as well as Peter Jenkinson and selected parenting influencers.
