University Games launches The Dog Ate My Homework
University Games has launched a new family game, The Dog Ate My Homework.
The game was invented by the team at Fuse, who licensed it to Longshore/Michael Kohner who then did the deal with University Games.
The Dog Ate My Homework sees players take turns feeding homework sheets into the dog’s mouth, turning its ear and retrieving the pieces from its rear end. They must then unscramble the shreds to correctly guess the hidden image before the timer runs out.
Each successful guess earns a doggie treat, and the player with the most treats after three rounds is the winner.
“The dog ate my homework… The excuse that’s been hounding teachers for generations is so timelessly ridiculous, we just had to turn it into a game,” said Craig Hendrickson, SVP Product Development at University Games.
“Now, instead of barking up the wrong tree, it can be the star of your family game night!”
Fuse’s Pete Cartlidge added: ‘This was a fun item to create and for one of those classic playground truisms! Everyone’s had their homework eaten by their dog, right!?! Thanks to Longshore and Michael Kohner for spotting its potential and good to luck Craig and the team at UG.”
